The EKO Warrior Split System heat pump is a revolution in air to water heat pump technology.  Traditional air to water heat pumps are units placed outside, although this seems like a good place to put it in respect to the traditional idea of an air source heat pump, but when was the last time a gas boiler went outside?  Mounting the heat pump outside means the water will be running outside, after it has dispersed its heat to the house, this can lead to freezing water running into the heat exchanger, causing serious problems.  This problem of freezing water in an air source heat pump is normally solved by adding glycol to the water to stop it from freezing, but bacteria feed on glycol, which means it will require regular maintenance and topping up.

The EKO Warrior, air to water heat pump is a split system heat pump, meaning the heat exchanger is mounted inside the home, keeping all of the water circulating around inside the house.  There is still an outdoor unit to extract the heat from the air, but the heat exhanger inside the house and the actual heat pump unit outside are connected by copper pipe.  The indoor unit is so discreet that it can be hidden inside a kitchen cabinet, just like most gas combi boilers are tucked away.
