Air to Water Heat Pumps

Air to water heat pumps are an ideal solution to your heating needs if you are currently using oil or electric storage heaters.  Anyone who currently lives off the gas grid will have noticed a significant increase in their fuel bills over the last couple of years, with the price of oil only going to go up in the coming years, now is the perfect time to start looking at investing your money into an alternative form of heating.

Air to Water Heat Pumps work by transfering the heat in the air into your central heating or underfloor heating system.  Although it may seem like an odd idea that there is heat in the air when it is freezing outside, there is plenty of useable heat in the air at very low temperatures to a refrigerant gas.  Using the same principal that your fridge freezer works on but in reverse, the water in your house is heated up at a low cost, helping the environment at the same time by emitting less carbon into the atmosphere.

Air to Water Heat Pumps work best when used with underfloor heating or when used with oversized radiators so are ideal for use in new builds or renovations.  However they can be used in builds to replace an existing oil boiler without any major work needing doing.  If you do not feel confident enough to get rid of your existing oil fired central heating just yet, these systems can be installed in conjunction with an existing central heating system to work as a back up or as supplimentary heating.
